Teaching Interests

Professor Erickson teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in nuclear engineering, focusing on radiation detection. Her recent academic activities have been focused on the development of a new graduate stand-alone cross-college certificate program titled “Emerging Technologies and Proliferation: Social, Technical, and Strategic Considerations.'' The courses provide an overview of nuclear engineering and emerging technologies and the primary debates in the field of international security concerning new technologies and nuclear proliferation.

Research Interests

Professor Erickson's work focuses on the integration of advanced reactor technologies, nonproliferation systems, and critical infrastructure strategy. She leads research in reactor modeling, detection and verification technologies, and the governance challenges emerging at the intersection of nuclear systems and global security. She directs the $50 million Consortium for Enabling Technologies and Innovation (ETI), a DOE/NNSA-funded initiative uniting universities and national laboratories to advance capabilities in nuclear safeguards and security.
