Teaching Interests
Professor Qi’s teaching interests emphasize core mechanical engineering topics at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including mechanics, materials science, and fabrication processes. His instruction aims to integrate foundational engineering principles with practical problem-solving skills. He is committed to mentoring students through coursework that bridges theory and application, fostering a deep understanding of material behavior and manufacturing technologies.
Research Interests
Professor Qi’s research focuses on the mechancis of advanced materials and additive manufacturing. His work investigates the mechanical behavior and functional properties of materials, emphasizing experimental characterization, modeling, addtive manufacuring, and recycling. This research aims to advance knowledge in material design and additive manufacturing processes, with applications that span emerging technologies in structural systems and sustainability.
