Anheuser-Busch Strengthens Ties With Woodruff School Through PARTNERS Program

Anheuser-Busch's growing partnership with the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering is creating new opportunities for student engagement, experiential learning, and recruitment.

A member of the Woodruff School's PARTNERS Program since the 2024-25 academic year, Anheuser-Busch has made Georgia Tech a key focus of its talent pipeline strategy. Through its Gold-level recruitment partnership, the company works closely with the School to connect with students through recruiting events, hands-on design experiences, and other engagement opportunities.

During the 2025-26 academic year, Anheuser-Busch expanded its involvement by sponsoring two Capstone Design projects, giving students the opportunity to tackle real-world engineering challenges from the company's beverage production facilities. The projects, developed in collaboration with Amit Jariwala, director of Design, Innovation, and Experiential Learning, focused on optimizing an existing system at the company's facility in Cartersville, Georgia, and designing a new mixing system concept for its Los Angeles facility.

“I met with Anheuser-Busch representatives in person at the ASME Career Fair in September 2025 to discuss Capstone Design,” Jariwala said. “Subsequently, their team sent me seven or eight different project ideas.”

After reviewing the proposed concepts, Jariwala worked with Anheuser-Busch to develop two projects that challenged students to apply creativity, engineering analysis, and design thinking to industry needs.

“Anheuser-Busch had a great experience with our students,” said Eden Kahssai, associate director of development for the Woodruff School. "Our students gain hands-on experience, think outside the box, and work within real-world constraints rather than starting with a clean slate. Those are the kinds of challenges we want them to have."

The partnership was recognized during Anheuser-Busch's University Partners Day in St. Louis, where Kahssai represented the Woodruff School and presented on the company's sponsored Capstone Design projects. During the event, Anheuser-Busch honored the School with two awards: Most Applicants and Best Capstone in Engineering.

The Most Applicants Award recognized Georgia Tech as a leading source of Anheuser-Busch job applicants, while the Best Capstone in Engineering Award highlighted the success of the School's hands-on design experience and its collaboration with the company.

"Through the PARTNERS Program, we're able to create meaningful connections between our students and industry partners," Kahssai said. "Anheuser-Busch's involvement demonstrates how companies can engage with students through recruiting, design projects, and other customized opportunities while helping students gain valuable exposure to real engineering challenges."

Kahssai and Jariwala are continuing discussions with Anheuser-Busch about future collaborations, including additional student engagement opportunities beyond Capstone Design.
