Professional Summary
Courtney Hughes joins the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering as the Development Assistant Sr. Her focus will be providing high-level administrative and operational support to the fundraising and stewardship efforts of the school.
Hughes is a proud Louisiana native who is fueled by mission-driven and impact-oriented work. She graduated from Berry College’s Honors Program, holding a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Legal Studies. While at Berry, she worked for Berry College Volunteer Services and the Leadership and Service Fellows Scholarship while participating in academic research.
Hughes established her career at BellXcel, a K-12 education technology nonprofit that focuses on out-of-school time programming. During her time as the Community Impact Specialist she helped launch the program Rise, an initiative focused on equitable access to out-of-school time opportunities in rural and Indigenous communities. She honed skills such as project management, stakeholder relations, community-building, donor engagement, event management and program implementation. She is excited to further grow her passions and career at the Woodruff School.
